Ziconotide trade name Prialt. It is a peptide toxin compound containing 25 amino acids and three disulfide bonds extracted from the South Pacific sea snail Conusmagus. It is the first new type of neurotherapeutic drug-N-type calcium can selectively act on N-type electrosensitive chemical calcium channels in dendrites and terminal branches of axons, thereby inhibiting the replacement of the initial noxious stimulation.
It is suitable for patients with severe chronic pain who need intrathecal therapy and who are intolerant or poorly cured of other analgesic treatments (such as systemic analgesics or intrathecal injection of morp hine, etc.). Intrathecal injection of ziconotide can treat postherpetic neuralgia, phantom limb pain, HIV-related neuropathy pain, refractory cancer pain, and postoperative pain.
Usage
This product is suitable for patients with severe chronic pain who require intrathecal treatment and who are intolerant or have poor efficacy to other analgesic treatments (such as the application of systemic analgesics or intrathecal injection of mor phine, etc.).
1. Analgesic efficacy Ziconotide is suitable for chronic pain patients who cannot tolerate or do not respond to other treatments, including systemic medication, adjuvant treatment of intrathecal injection of mor phine. Intrathecal injection of ziconotide has clinically and statistically significant analgesic efficacy in patients with cancer or AIDS.
2. Spinal cord protection Short-term spinal cord ischemia When spinal cord neurons are damaged, there is N-type electrosensitive calcium pathway activation. Ziconotide can provide neuroprotection and analgesia during aortic surgery.
